In the world of HPC Fire Inspired manufacturing, especially in custom-configured products like gas fire pits, model numbers do more than identify a product—they communicate critical design, specification, and functionality details. For industry professionals, distributors, and even informed consumers, understanding how to read and interpret model numbers can streamline ordering, improve accuracy, and reduce costly errors.

Let’s take a look at our new lightweight Dekko concrete unit model numbers and how HPC structures its model numbers to communicate the entire product configuration. With over 1200 added SKUs for the new product line it’s important to understand what each new model number means.

“TOR” (Burner Style)

The model number begins with a code that denotes the burner type—in this case, “TOR” refers to torpedo style burner. This code immediately informs the customer, dealer or distributor what style or burner design the product belongs to, lucky for us all Dekko lightweight concrete units will feature a “TORPEDO” style burner and all SKUs will begin with TOR.

“AVER48” (Shell Type & Size)

Next comes the shell identifier, which communicates both the design model and size. For instance:

AVER refers to the Avera series, a specific shape or style within the lightweight concrete family. Avera is a rectangular shell/enclosure

48 indicates the diameter or length—in this case, a 48-long rectangular shell/enclosure

Other options in the family include ALEA32, SERE40, and SONO72, offering a range of designs and dimensions to suit different architectural and landscaping needs.

“CH” (Finished Color of the Shell)

The next segment of the SKU specifies the color finish of shell. With 6 different colors to choose from HPC can customize to match outdoor aesthetics or customer preferences.

  • CH = Charcoal
  • N = Natural
  • CL = Clay
  • A = Ash
  • S = Sandstone
  • L = Limestone

This ensures visual harmony in design, particularly in high-end residential or hospitality applications where finish matters just as much as functionality.

“IB” (Decorative Stone Media)

This portion of the model number indicates the stone media color and type. Yep…that’s right the HPC Dekko concrete units ship complete with the decorative media for the fire feature.

  • IB = Ivory Beach Stone
  • SB = Slate Beach Stone
  • BL = Black Lava Rock

These stones influence both the aesthetic and flame performance of the fire pit, helping to customize the ambiance and heat distribution.

 “EI-LP/120VAC”

The Final Segment of the model number relates to ignition type, gas type and power requirements. This is important as it relates to installation and code requirements.

  • EI = Electronic Ignition
  • LP = Liquid Propane
  • 120VAC = Standard 120V power source

Other Variations you may see:

NG = Natural gas

24VAC = 24 volt

MLFPK = Match-lit Unit

This section ensures the system will operate correctly with the customer’s fuel source, power supply, and ignition type preferences.

When manufacturing HPC Fire Inspired products like outdoor gas fire pits, model number nomenclature isn’t just a formality, it’s a powerful tool that encapsulates all the critical specifications of the product in a single, easy-to-communicate string. By learning how to read model numbers such as TOR-AVER48-CHIB-EI-LP/120VAC, contractors, designers, and customers can make faster decisions, ensure compatibility, and deliver better results with fewer errors.
