Setting

Planning your design space is an important aspect to creating a successful design.

Choosing the location of your fire appliance is of utmost importance and can truly make all the difference in the overall function and aesthetic of the design. When planning your installation make sure that the site of the fire appliance will be free from of overhanging obstacles taking into account clearance guidelines.

Gas Type

Selecting the type of gas of the fire appliance will help streamline the ordering process.  Natural Gas and Propane require a different set up, so it is important to make this determination early on in the planning stage. Outlining the distance from the gas supply will assist the installation team in selecting proper gas line sizing. Power Source

Identifying a need for a Power source. HPC offers a large variety of operating systems to fit your needs. It is important to consider the location when selecting a power source. For example HPC 120 volt systems work well in many backyard and commercial settings. If your fire appliance will be near a water source, HPC offers low voltage selections to ensure safety.  In addition, HPC’s Evolution 360 Fire and Water Models require a source of water to be hooked to the water line. From Match lit,  to FPPK or Electronic ignition, all of our appliances lend themselves beautifully to a variety of settings. With careful planning Building the Enclosure for the Fire appliance is the final step. Many materials lend themselves to creating beautiful finishes: From stone to brick to tile you can cater it to your sense of style. When consulting with the installers, be sure to factor in need for proper clearances as well as ventilation and drainage. By planning these critical steps and accounting for combustibles upfront, it allows for more options to naturally incorporate proper drainage and ventilation in the design. If your appliance will be installed on decking, HPC offers a Deck installation kit that makes the process seamless. Be sure to refer to HPC’s installation instructions as well as take the time to confer with your local code and regulations.

Media

HPC offers a wide range of media options to provide the finishing touch to your overall design aesthetic. From Certified Fire Glass offered in ten different colors, to our lava rock and fire logs; the options to customize your design are endless. The selection and application of media plays an important role in the enhancement of your flame pattern. It is imperative to apply the media properly to ensure peak performance. On standard burners it is recommended to cover the pan, burner and ports completely layering the media approximately ¼” to ½” over the burners. On Torpedo burners, one should cover the burner leaving the ports exposed; the gapping in the media creates the proper conditions yielding largest flame on the market.
