HPC’s Trough and Interlink Linear Burner Pans: The Bold Designs That Stand The Test Of Time

Steve Jobs, the great entrepreneur and innovator, once said: “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” HPC’s dedicated Research and Design team carefully curates appliances made from quality commercial stainless steel. Our team puts each design through rigorous testing to ensure quality appliances that are safe, reliable, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and are capable of withstanding the test of time. This Tech Talk is dedicated to highlighting HPC’s CSA Certified Trough and Interlink Linear Burner Pans.

Trough Burner And Interlink Burner Pans:
HPC’s Trough and Interlink burner pans are made from commercial stainless steel. Both of these pans utilize HPC’s linear burners. Desire a greater flame? The Linear burner can be upgraded with HPC’s Torpedo Technology yielding a 6-8 inch increase in flame height. This burner makes a great elegant match for these pans yielding a classically beautiful flame. Both pans are available in Match Lit (MLFPK), Push button (FPPK) and Electronic Ignition (EI) series offered in On/Off or Hi/Lo. Each pan can be paired with any of HPC’s signature accessories elevating the design aesthetically as well as functionally. Let’s review the slight nuances of both the Trough and Interlink Linear insert models aiding in identifying the design that best suits your preferences and needs.

  • Trough: HPC’s original linear product that has been tried tested and approved. The Trough design has 2 ½ inch sides all around the pan that is capped with a 1.3 inch lip. The depth of the sides paired with the lip creates a natural support for the pan making it easier to install. The lip creates a perfect seal upon adding the chosen surround on the enclosure. In addition the unique lip aids in retaining the media in the pan. The Trough pan is available in 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 and 96 inches.
  • Interlink: HPC’s Interlink was developed to provide more customization options for our fire appliance consumers. These pans have become popular with customers over the past 8 years. The Interlink design has 2 ½ inch sides which does aid in retaining the media. The Interlink does not utilize a lip in its’ design. Therefore the installer needs to utilize materials to support the pan, such as rebar or angle iron creating extra steps in the installation process. A unique benefit that the Interlink offers is that it can be combined. Meaning that several interlink units can be linked together end to end creating a longer linear fire effect. This allows for a unique opportunity for personalized customization. The Interlink pan is offered in 25×8”, 37×8” , 49×8”, 61×8”, 73×8”, 97×8” and 121×8”.

If you like the classic linear look both the Trough and the Interlink can be customized to fit your desired aesthetic. As always, it is imperative during the design stage to provide the correct calculations and dimensions for your chosen insert. Paying close attention to such details will ensure that the insert will be properly supported and fit during the installation process. HPC provides step-by-step instructions for installation. Following these steps are critical to the proper functioning of your fire appliance. Check out HPC’s other Tech Talks discussing clearances and ventilation to aid in the planning of your design.
