Position: Production Associate
Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor

Hearth Products Controls Co. (HPC) is a distributor of gas log repair components as well as a manufacturer of outdoor gas appliances, water features, and accessories for over 40 years. We produce various shapes and sizes of gas fire pit inserts distributed in North America and abroad that offer numerous forms of control technologies. Our office and manufacturing facility is located in Dayton, Ohio employing ~50 associates. Although the foundation of the company was built in the Hearth industry, we also cover Pool & Spa, Landscape, Hardscape, and other industries.
Basic Function: Ability to work independently. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The position requires accuracy and flexibility.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assemble all assemblies per the customer’s specifications; Accuracy, of assembly, is paramount
- Inform the Purchasing and Inventory staff member of any material or packing supply shortages.
- Retrieve all parts from inventory to complete assemblies scheduled.
- Reasoning Ability: The ability to understand complex assembly instructions.
- Records the start and stop time on the bottom of the Production Assignment Form.
- Complete and return the Production Assignment Form to the Purchasing and Inventory Staff member for processing.
- Body Positions: Requires mostly standing, but there will be the need for walking activities throughout the day to retrieve parts and lift boxes.
- Body Movements: use of hands, eyes, arms, voice, & ears
- Inform the Purchasing and Inventory staff member of changes that need to be made to the Packaging List (assembly instructions).
- Inform Inventory personnel when Inventory levels on parts get low.
- The authority of the Production Employee is derived directly from the Manufacturing Manager.
- The Production Employee has sufficient authority to fulfill the responsibilities and duties assigned to the position, within the guidelines established by the
- Manufacturing Supervisor and the Manufacturing Manager.
- Report to the Manufacturing Supervisor any problems encountered in Production
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Required: A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently.

- The position requires accuracy and flexibility.
- Ability to read and understand Packaging Lists (assembly instructions)
- Proficiency in locating and identifying inventory parts by part number to complete the assembly process.
