Why ON/OFF units may be more convenient on a commercial application than a HI/LO
In this HPC Fire Inspired™ Teck Talk, we will focus on the proper equipment selection for your client and their property. Many Commercial applications (Hotels, Multi-Family, restaurants, and Bars) may require multiple people or even patrons to operate the fire pit or running the burners at odd hours. So, let’s take a look at some of the HI/LO Features that may be an inconvenience for a commercial property.
- Must Use the Bluetooth remote of the smartphone APP for operation. The remote can get lost by employees and the app will limit the people who have the ability to operate the unit.
- You can’t use a timer on a HI/LO unit. This eliminates the fire pit being operated by patrons or residents when they choose.
- The antenna must be mounted on the outside for proper communication. There is a risk of the antenna being accidentally broken or disconnected.
- If a timer is required on the property, the timer can be set, but still must be operated by the remote or smartphone.
As you can see from above, some of the conveniences and tech involved with the HI/LO may hinder a commercial property and its guests or residents.
The ON/OFF units can be operated very simply with a light switch, timer, or other means of operating the circuit. This makes it very easy to operate with a timer which is a very popular means on commercial properties. The trade-off for the ON/OFF is the 2 flame height control. Although all HPC Fire Inspired™ Equipment is certified for both residential and commercial applications, sometimes the benefits don’t match the client’s use.
