Tech Talks: Enhance Your Design With HPC’s Wind Guards:

Annette Franz, Founder and CEO of CX Journey once said, “In a world where products and services are becoming more and more commoditized, customer experience is the only true differentiator.” HPC Fire Inspired team is dedicated to enhancing consumer experiences and work tirelessly to achieve optimal customer satisfaction. This Tech Talk will review HPC’s Glass Wind Guards that may be added to our fire features to enhance the aesthetic design, as well as safety and functionality.

HPC provides a wide variety of accessories that can elevate our designs. Adding one of HPC’s beautifully constructed Glass Wind Guards will achieve a polished look that offers additional safety benefits. HPC’s Glass Wind Guards are formed from tempered glass. Each panel is 3/16th of an inch thick and 6 inches high. The glass panels are joined together by nickel plated bracket clips with high temperature resistant rubber feet. Each panel is etched with a caution warning reminding consumers that the glass will become hot to touch. HPC’s Glass Wind Guards are available in various sizes and are shaped to fit round, square, linear and trough burner enclosures. For proper sizing, refer to HPC’s sizing chart. For larger enclosures HPC offers extension kits for square, linear and rectangle burner enclosures. The kit includes extra panes of glass as well as brackets and rubber feet that join the panels.

Benefits of Glass Wind Guards:
Wind Guards are one of HPC’s top selling fire pit accessories. It is an easy solution that offers a reduction in flame disturbance due to elements and prevents loose items from getting too close to the flames.

Round Wind Guard

Proper installation:
Wind Guards are designed to fit around the outside of the fire pit tray. The guard should not be fastened down as it is meant to sit directly on the enclosure itself. They should straddle over it and never be located in the tray burner area. Allow a minimum of 2 inches on all sides from the edge of the fire pit tray to the inside of the wind guard. Once your wind guard arrives be sure to properly assemble the panels. Per Chuck Parson, “it is best to loose fit all of the clips on the glass panes, then once the panels are joined together a final tightening may be completed.” Doing so will allow the panels to be connected properly.” In addition, HPC recommends avoiding over-tightening the clips as this can inhibit the glass from being able to expand properly which can lead to the panels cracking or shattering.

Glass Wind Guard Warranty:
HPC stands by our products offering a 3 year warranty on the glass wind guards. If anything should falter, HPC offers a full replacement.
