The Drum Smoker by HPC Fire Inspired utilizes patented Vortex technology to evenly cook and smoke your food to perfection. Its unique design maintains temperature better and consumes wood slower than competing appliances, allowing for up to an 18 hour cook time on a single bag of lump charcoal. Furthermore, its tall, cylindrical design allows its user to smoke multiple food items by employing a two-rack structure.

Vortex technology is characterized by a dual intake vane system. A vortex is created in the bottom of the smoker by introducing air through two patented, opposed, tangential, and adjustable air intakes. The resulting clockwise air rotation creates a vortex which distributes the swirling air into the bottom of the fuel basket, resulting in efficient, even burning of fuel. As the vortex travels upward through the smoker, the smoke and heated air is smoothed out and augmented by a full width, twelve-vaned, perforated plate. This plate also acts as a flavor bar, catching any drippings that come from the food within.

The conical head permits higher food placement within the drum. This placement allows for the continued, even distribution of smoke and heated air, helping to eliminate “hot spots” and resulting in a juicy, delicious finished product.
