HPC Fire Inspire New Pilot Assembly Kits
As many of you know, HPC Fire Inspired has launched its new smaller pilot assembly kits for both the electronic ignition and its manual ignition with safety pilot (FPPK) units. This week we will go over the new pilots and eliminate some of the confusion.
As you can see the pilot is now much smaller, and less intrusive. HPC Fire Inspired has also gone to a silicon nitride igniter. The significance of the new igniter is longevity. It’s a much more robust igniter, and as you may know, we no longer need the protective perforated barrel around the igniter. We have also gone to thicker, larger thermocouple, to eliminate any brittle cracking that may happen during install, or just from the heat cycle. The new pilot hood you will notice is now a 2-way directional hood in lieu of the 3-way. This allows for a smaller footprint and blow out box. The new pilots are now smaller, more robust, less intrusive to the look of the installed fire pit, and requires a smaller cut out on the pan.
This brings us to the pilot replacements. There is some confusion on pilot assembly kit replacements on older units with the larger rectangular pilot and blow out box. The confusion comes from the fact that the smaller pilot will no longer cover the larger opening. Moving forward all of HPC Fire Inspired pilot replacement for electronic ignition (EI or HI/LO) or the FPPK unit will now include a new blow out box along with a transition plate mounted to the bottom of the blow out box. This transition plate is intended to cover the larger opening while moving to the smaller pilot. As in the illustration above the transition, the plate will mount to the pan using the same screws holes that are used on the larger opening. The pilot/blowout box assembly will then mount to the transition plate.
As many know our pilot assembly kit replacements have never included a blowout box and lid. All electronic ignition and FPPK pilot replacements will now include not only the pilot assembly but also the new smaller blowout box, lid, and transition plate to eliminate any confusion of correct pilot assembly being replaced. If you are replacing an older HWI pilot, those pilots will remain the larger rectangular replacements that you may be familiar with. The older HWI pilot and the new EI pilots are not compatible, so please give us a call if you need help. We hope this helps eliminate any confusion on pilot replacements and the new look of your HPC Fire Inspired Fire Features.
