Tech Talk – Engineered To Order: HPC Custom Considerations and Quoting

Customized Engineered Designs:

HPC is a leader within the fire industry and is expanding custom-engineered designs catering to consumer desires. As always, putting safety and functionality are at the forefront of every piece that goes into each fire appliance. HPC is actively working with CSA to achieve certification on each custom engineered design. Currently, each piece tooled by HPC is not only tested internally but is also tested by CSA to confirm its safety and functionality. The drive for safety and nothing less than excellence truly sets HPC apart from the competition as our custom designs are not pieced together with existing parts. Each design is catered to the specs of our dealers’ and consumers’ requests. Today’s Tech Talk will highlight HPC’s process to quote custom-engineered designs to ensure an outstanding product every time.

Quoting Process:

Choosing an HPC Design will elevate your outdoor space. It is perfect for any residential or commercial setting. Let HPC’s innovation and technology bring your backyard dreams into reality. Achieving custom-engineered designs requires proper planning, technical knowledge, and expertise. HPC truly partners with our dealers and consumers to ensure a seamless process from the designing stages to the installation.

HPC’s local dealers can submit your design specs to begin the quoting process. Not linked with a dealer, consumers can visit HPCfire.com to get connected with the listed local dealers under HPC’s Shop dropdown. The next step is to complete the contact and project information form. During this initial planning stage, it is imperative to share all critical details of the project. Doing so will allow our HPC Team to guide you through the process while sharing their expertise to ensure the design and installation area is properly prepped to achieve optimal functioning.

Once the project information form is completed it is sent to the attention of HPC’s Senior Lead Technician and Custom Specialist, Ben Wentzel. Depending on what is needed Ben will reach out to the customer or dealer to obtain market pricing and begin a drawing for the plan of the project. For a custom quote, the lead time is approximately 5-7 days as the HPC team reviews the project to obtain proper pricing as well as confirm the engineering of the designs. Once confirmed, Ben Wentzel will complete a CAD Drawing of the pan, burner, and the selected ignition system: electronic ignition system, match lit, FPPK. Once completed an electronic proposal combined with the drawing of the unit and the installation instructions are sent to the attention of the dealer and consumer.

The Dealer will review the plan with the consumer to sign off on the PO. HPC’s custom quotes are good for 30 days. Once the PO is received and the sale is complete HPC requires a 50% deposit before the build begins. Once payment is received there is a 4-6 week lead time. Proper customization takes time. What sets HPC apart is the engineering of each design. The unit is not pieced together with prefab parts. HPC pays special attention to the detail and the quality of how each appliance is crafted ensuring our units will stand the test of time.
